Leadership

One of the greatest inspirations for me as a leader is Patrice Lumumba, the first Prime Minister of independent Congo. My favorite aspect of Lumumba is the way he resisted colonialism—even under intense pressure and at personal risk. He never shied away from speaking honestly regarding injustice, and he fought righteously for the rights and dignity of his people. The strength and conviction Lumumba exhibited during his brief tenure as leader are exactly the kind of strength and honesty I aspire to possess in my life.
